The Book of Secrets

I finished reading it and ordered 3 more. Chopra mentions YOGA VASHISTHA, and I would like to get a translation of that. I could not find it with the same spelling at Amazon. It's the 'never born, never dying' aspect that interests me--Gigi's maxim.

4th of July 2010

After a 7 a.m. dog park visit, we are home to stay, except that I will need to make a trip to the pharmacy. I found out that my insurance is under Group Health, so the $80 I paid for Cipro and Neomycin for an outer ear infection should have been $10. As it is, I was getting stomach pain, so I'm off the Cipro.

Dr. Jane

IMM sent word that my Ph.D. dissertation passed with a grade of 4. I think that's an 'A.'

Hip, hip, hooray!

Today at the Dog Park

Aaron was there with her two dogs. Then, Michael came with Finnegan. Husky behaved well [he seems to be over his 'mounting' craze], and Kayla came with Chester. We had 5 husky/mixes there. Ready likes to chase birds, and the birds love it. They tease him.

The 8:30 meeting at the yoga place didn't happen. Chinmayo went off island to post her posters. If she needs me to, I could fill in for her next time.

So, I had a breakfast sandwich at the place where Chinmayo makes pastries. Then, I took Ready for an extra walk. I walked Husky and Ready at 7 around here in a mist.

I ate dinner at Jimmy's: Chicken pot pie and berry parfait. Both were excellent.

I need to call University of Metaphysics early in the a.m. to make sure they can access my thesis in the way they want to.

Hands Across the Sand

The first item on the agenda was mailing a hard copy of my thesis to University of Sedona. I had a manila envelope and enough postage for Priority Mail [$4.90], so I packaged the thing and put it through the slot. The P.O. is not open on Saturday. I also emailed UOM and said I would call Monday morning.

We met Aaron and her two husky/mix dogs today at the dog park. I will be buying doggy treats from Aaron. She lives at 235 C Street, the Harrison House.

I dropped off a check for Janet at the Yoga Path and then began to prepare for Hands Across the Sand. The gathering could not have worked out better. We had 24 participants and more than one photographer. I have already emailed everyone and sent a link to my photos.

I'm watching old Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies from Netflix. They are extravaganzas of entertainment, and I really appreciate them.

We took a late trip to the dog park. Then, I bought a small German Chocolate cake for Kim for her birthday and gave her $5.

It's bed-time for the dogs, and I'm trying to get the DVD player to work after leaving it on stop while I talked to Dori. For some reason, there is no sound.

Pelindaba Spa

Yesterday my day concluded with a massage by Nancy Brickman. Not only was it a good massage, but we have many other things in common: Christian Science, Science of Mind, Dennis Kucinich, the Progressive Movement. I sent her my thesis, and we plan to get together when we have time. She may be a part of a group with Jessica and Theresa. I met Sandra through her, and she spoke like a kindred soul.

I felt my yoga body all night last night. I planned to take the dogs to the dog park at 7, but maybe they won't want to go that early. I'm thinking the ground will be wet with dew.

From 7-9 p.m. tonight I will meet in discussion with Janet Thomas at the Yoga Center. We will be talking about memoirs.

SJI Dog Park

I took Ready and Husky out at 6 a.m. I met Theresa and her border collie. She told me about the dog park near Brown's, and I took Husky and Ready at 7 a.m.

Along came Michael, whose ex-wife's name was Jane. I told him my ex-husband's name is Michael. He had a gorgeous golden retriever, Flynn.

Ready can now be loose without being penned, and he can ride in the 4x4 while Husky rides in the back seat. Much progress made today.

While the dogs napped, I went to the Bean. I was going to pick up a yoga schedule, but Jeannie was teaching a class which I joined at 10:00. I signed up for 8 classes for $96. Jeannie was the teacher Jolie recommended.

While heading to the RV, I ran into Chinmayo. She was on her way to Printonyx, so I followed her. I looked at possible business cards, and she printed out her posters for the music series.

I'm going to donate to the dog park, attend Janet Thomas' discussion about memoirs tomorrow, plan a yoga and meeting schedule, and perhaps make a sign for HANDS ACROSS THE SAND.

I'm going to put 24G of photos on my LaCie external drive and file with the USPS to forward my Jane Anne Jeffries mail here till 11/18.
